The manufacturer Thomastik Peter Infeld called his eponymous string a revolution of total timbre for the discerning violinist. The strings of Peter Infeld (PI) indeed produce a rich spectrum of timbres and a powerful/elegant sound within a large dynamic range. All this with a direct response and good tunability. The strings feel relatively soft, which can result in an optimal interpretation of the violin playing. There are three types of E-strings available, namely tin/chrome steel, alu/gold plated/chrome steel and platinum/chrome steel). The A, D and G strings have a synthetic core, with the following windings available: A - Alu, D - Alu or Silver (in set) and G - Silver. The ball is removable at the E-string, so that it can also be used as a loop-end (loop).
