The Lakatos violin strings are designed for the vituoso Hungarian jazz and gypsy violinist Roby Lakatos. The strings combine an open and powerful sound with a fast response and easy playability. The string set consists of the following strings:

- E string : Stainless steel
- A string : Steel core wound with chromed wire
- D string : Synthetic core wound with aluminum wire
- G string : Synthetic core wound with silver wire

Thomastik has recently terminated stopped producing Lakatos violin strings. only a few types are available.
