Start playing double bass this week!

Strijkinstrumentenshop.nl specializes in the rental of hand-built double basses. In our workshop there is mostly a suitable mostly double bass in the right size available for you. You can choose to pick up the double bass in The Hague, but it is also possible to have the double bass delivered, however only for the regions North- and South Holland, Utrecht and Flevoland. You always rent a complete set from us, consisting of: a double bass, bow, rosin and a sturdy double bass bag. We have chosen to work with European double basses, because Dutch double bass teachers have a preference for European instruments. In exceptional cases, we use Chinese instruments (only 1/16 double basses). All double basses are equipped with quality strings (D'Addario, Pirastro or Thomastik).

Information double bass rental

Determine size whether you are looking for an instrument for yourself, or for your son or daughter. We mostly have the right size in stock. The following sizes are available: 1/16, 1/10, 1/18, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 4/4 (4/4 only on special request). Don't know what size is needed? Take a look at this page to see how you can measure that. Need a different size? With us you can switch to a larger instrument free of charge. Children grow fast and therefore within a few years they often have to switch to a larger instrument several times.

Insurance package

We offer the possibility to include an additional insurance package when renting the instrument for an additional fee. With this package you are insured against damage and you do not have to pay extra for any maintenance on the violin (string replacement, re-hairing of the bow).

Rates

The rates shown are per month, including VAT and excluding any delivery costs. The minimum rental period is one quarter (3 months). The price behind the slash (/..) is the additional cost for our insurance package (optional). More information about the insurance package can be found under the heading insurance package. If you wish to receive the cello delivered, the payment of the first rental period must be received by Strijkinstrumentenshop.nl, as well of a copy through mail of your ID in order to assess your identity (photo may be covered).

We are convinced that no matter how small the cello is and whatever the level of the player, everyone should have a good instrument at their disposal. A good instrument offers a challenge to the player and also has a motivating effect. That is why we choose hand-built instruments in Europe with a very consistent quality. All instruments are equipped with quality strings and accessories, and together with a good pinholder and bow, you have everything you need to start playing the cello! For cello we work with three (3) quality classes, namely budget, advanced and premium, whereby the following values (ca) of the instruments apply:

• Budget - value double bass set between € 1000 en 1400 (laminated wood, ebony parts)
• Advanced - value double bass set between € 1400 en 1600 (solid wood upper panel, laminated  side and back and ebony parts)
• Premium - value double bass set between € 1600 en 2500 (fully solid wood with ebony parts)

Delivery

If you choose "send" in the rental request, the double bass set may be delivered to your home, however only for the regions North- and South Holland, Utrecht and Flevoland. Delivery costs are € 14.95.

Termination of rental agreement

Strijkinstrumentenshop.nl does not work with a notice period and you do not have to cancel the rental if you want to terminate the rental. All you have to do is ensure that the instrument is returned in The Hague, Prins Mauritsplein 19 (drop-off possible on Tuesday to Saturday between 11 am and 4.30 pm, without appointment) or collected at your home ( price = + € 14,95). As soon as the instrument has been received by us, the rental agreement will be terminated, including any automatic payment arrangements and you will be notified by e-mail, which also explains the refund of the deposit (only applicable for premium violins, cellos and double basses). Any invoices that were already sent for the next rental period of 3 months will then be cancelled if the instrument has been returned in time.
