The Pirastro Tonica violin strings are available in medium tension and the strings have the following specification:

- E string ball-end or loop-end steel silver steel;
- A string : Synthetic core with aluminum wrapping;
- D and G string : Synthetic core with silver wrapping.

As a variation, the D string is also available with aluminum winding (only 4/4) and the E string is also available with aluminum winding. Available in Medium and Soft.

Qualities of this string set:

• Round in sound, even on all strings.
• Works well with any stroke technique.
• Little noise and noise.
• Also easy to play in the higher positions.
• Suitable for all violins.
• The pianissimo sound has been significantly improved.
• Insensitive to fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

Pirastro has stopped producing the strong and soft versions of Tonica violin strings and as a result this is a discontinued item that can not be ordered or very limited from the wholesaler. There are still a few sets and strings available.
