The Piratro Eudoxa "Stiff" violin string is a string with a gut core, wound with a metal wrap. The gut core of the Eudoxa "Stiff" violin string is handcrafted by Pirastro and has a balanced sound with a multitude of timbres. Compared to the Eudoxa violin string, the "Stiff" version sounds a bit darker and more powerful. The following versions are available in medium, strong, extra strong and soft diameter/string tension, indicated in PM (Pirazzi meter = 0.05 mm) and delivered in plastic tubes:

- D string : gut core with aluminum winding (diameter 16 1/2, 16 3/4, 17 or 17 1/4);
- G string : gut core with silver winding (diameter 15 1/2, 15 3/4, 16 or 16 1/4).
