A relative newcomer in the cello string world are the Perpetual strings from Pirastro. For the advanced cello player who requires even more power and dynamics, the soloist version is available with a slightly higher string tension compared to the medium set. In addtion, the A string is available in strong and soft versions. Thanks to their advanced technology these A-string options offer special features that many cellists will appreciate. The strings will reveal their very warm and round sound to the musician as soon as they are played for the first time, while remaining focused without any metallic sharpness. The Cello Perpetual A Soloist string is the warmest sounding in the PIRASTRO program. The »Strong« version offrers a voluminous deep and very powerful sound with this impressive construction. If you are looking for a dark and velvety sounding string with low tension, the »Soft« version is certainly of particular interest. 

The A and D strings are made of steel, wound with chrome steel, the G and C strings have a multi-wire steel core, with tungsten winding. See table below.
