New in the Larsen range are the AURORA cello strings; introduced in March 2021. The strings are the successor to the Crown cello strings that Larsen no longer produces. According to the manufacturer Larsen, the strings offer good responsiveness, easy playability, round and brilliant sound without metallic noises, and also sound surprisingly good in this price category. The strings are made as follows:

- A & D string : Steel core wound with a corrosion resistant steel alloy.
- G string : Steel/Nickel wound
- C string : Steel/Tungsten wound

and available in sizes 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 4/4. This is especially good news for 1/16 cellos, as there are no 1/16 cello strings on the market yet.
