This contemporary method by Jaap van der Elst is excellent for use in individual or group lessons. With 24 structured lessons and two carefully composed CDs, this first part is a great start for the young violin student. Play Violin! distinguishes itself through clear instructions, intonation and replay exercises (using the CDs as an aid), rhythm exercises, assignments and games. The subject matter has also been incorporated into well-known and new pieces, as well as duets. A crossword puzzle and interesting information about the instrument and its history make the book extra attractive for the student.
