D'Addario Helicore Hybrid double bass strings are made of a multi-braided steel core with nickel winding and produce a slightly brighter sound compared to the other Helicore double bass strings. Their design makes them very easy to play with the left hand, with the damping optimized to achieve a good balance between pizzicato reverberation and response in case of bowing. The strings are very stable, even in changing weather conditions and are easy to play. The 3/4 strings fit a 3/4 double bass with a 1060mm (41 3/4 inch) vibrating string scale, while the 1/2 strings fit a 1/2 double bass with a 975mm (38 inch) vibrating string scale. 3/8 in.). Available in medium, strong and soft (3/4) string tensions.
