The Flexible String Trios series offers a sophisticated concept for string ensembles that play in changing line-ups. In the score, 3 voices are indicated, where each voice can be filled in by either violin, viola or cello. In this way, the pieces can be played in all kinds of combinations of string instruments. Both combinations with the same and with different string instruments are possible. In the latter case it is advisable to have the highest tuned instrument play the highest numbered voice. This provides a correct sound balance and therefore the best result.
