Benoy/Burrowes' "First Year Cello Method" includes 15 lessons with open strings and first finger notes, first and second finger notes on D and A strings, bowing on successive open strings, first and third finger notes on G, D, and A strings, striking two notes with the bow in G, D & C major. The 75 short and longer melodies are usually provided with a second voice, which the cello teacher can play along with. Suitable for all ages.
The "Second Year Cello Method" by Benoy/Burrowes includes 12 lessons with string changes in C major , fourth position in G & C major, low first finger extension in B minor & F major, high second and third fingers in A & D - large. The 71 short and longer melodies are usually provided with a second voice, which the cell teacher can play along with. Suitable for all ages.
The "Third Year Cello Method" consists of 10 lessons and goes deeper into the theory and technique of playing the cello. The following will be covered in the third part of the method: Flageolets on A & D strings, fifth position, sixth position, seventh position, playing/reading various keys and higher positions.
