This violin, without characteristic, has been completely restored by violin maker Ornella Ceci. The differences between a baroque violin and a modern violin can be seen in, among other things, the size and nature of the neck, fingerboard and tailpiece. The neck is less angled, slightly wider and flatter. The fingerboard is made of Norwegian spruce with a thin ebony layer. The "baroque" bridge has a slightly different shape in height and thickness. The slightly flatter arc shape promotes the playing of chords. This baroque violin is equipped with a baroque tailpiece, tuning keys, fretboard and Pirastro gut strings. A nice instrument for violinists who want to develop baroque music at a lower tuning (415 or 432 hz).
